Podcast Spotlight
Clinical psychologist, author and legal resource with over 40 years of experience on the topics of parent-child communication and child advocacy- Dr. David Marcus.
|
β
What happens when a child's world is full of conflict and unpredictability? They're often torn apart by divided loyalties, struggling to trust, and unable to regulate their big emotions. For grandparents stepping in to raise their grandchildren, navigating this reality can feel overwhelming.
β
That's why this week, we're honored to welcome Dr. David S. Marcus, a clinical psychologist with 40 years of experience who has served as a child advocate in high-conflict family court. In this vital conversation, Dr. Marcus reveals that our most important job as caregivers is to be a "soothing presence"βa predictable source of calm in a chaotic world.
β
In this episode, you will learn:
* How to avoid the common parenting mistakes that can accidentally shut down communication.
* The profound impact of a child's deep-seated need for predictability and stability.
* The essential "empty-out process" that gives children the emotional security to truly heal.
β
This is your opportunity to gain crucial insights that will help you build trust, foster resilience, and pave the way for a happier family life. Don't miss this chance to unlock a toolbox of wisdom with Dr. Marcus!

Our Mission in the Spotlight! β¨β
β
I have some wonderful and exciting news to share with you all this week. I was filled with so much pride watching my friend and new podcast partner, Craig Nash, as he was featured on the TV show "Live in the D"!
β
Craig had a fantastic opportunity to speak to a wider audience about the vital work he's doing to support grandfamilies across the country. He shared the heart behind his mission and talked about The Grand Fund, his non-profit that provides tangible hope and direct financial assistance to grandparents raising their grandchildren.
β
Watching him speak with such passion and clarity is a perfect example of the purpose and dedication he is bringing to our new combined podcast. I am truly honored to be partnering with him to bring this level of support and advocacy to all of you.
β
We invite you to watch the full interview to see a true champion for our community in action. Itβs a message of hope that deserves to be shared.
